On the subject of children having children it is time to hold the parents financially responsible. Children being sexually active tend to produce people dependent on welfare. Teen pregnancy must either become a public issue, where laws must be passed, or the parents must be held financially responsible to support the teen mother and the child through the college years. The sperm donor as well as his parents must share in financial responsibility for the same period.
People are free to be as sexually active as they like as long as it does not add to welfare. It is time to take teen pregnancy out of discussions on morality and out of discussions on personal freedoms. It is financial, pure and simple and the public deserves relief from those who would act in such a way as to add to public debt.
