Re: My Magic Green Hat

Our country is pretty screwed up. As long as we are willing to help the helpless there will be cheaters. My guess is not many Americans will let a three-year-old girl starve or die of a treatable illness.

Those in prison can get a college education for free while non-criminals have to sacrifice to provide the same education for their children. Recently I read a paper about Denver CO, that claimed total costs, housing, food, medical etc total around $45,000 per year for each homeless person. One area Denver is looking at is providing a free apartment for the homeless which will cost less than $5,000 a year. That plus $10,000 for services per individual will reduce the total cost of the homeless by over 60%.Living in an apartment will be healthier than living in a shelter. One homeless person  How's that for stupid. Give a homeless person a home for free while those who are working have to struggle to afford the same things.

Several years ago there was a story out of the USSR that the manager of a canning plant had been executed for putting too few peas in a can of peas. My guess is that stopped the cheaters. Until we are ready to eliminate from society anyone hurting society we will continue to have cheaters.

My Magic Green Hat

The other day I needed to go to the emergency room.  Not wanting to sit there for 4 hours, I put on my MAGIC GREEN HAT.   When I went into the E.R., I noticed that 3/4 of the people got up and left.

I guess they decided that they weren't that sick after all.   Cut at least 3 hours off my waiting time.

Here's the hat:

It also works at DMV. It saved me 5 hours.

At the Laundromat, three minutes after entering, I had my choice of any machine, most still running.

If you live in Texas, it might cut your wait time at the grocery store.

But...don't try it at McDonald's. The whole crew ran out the back door and I never got my order.

Big East Officials St Johns vs Rutgers

I hear the officials made a mistake. Where's the mistake? . They froze or intentionally gave the game to St Johns. Two flagrant fouls go uncalled and then traveling and out of bounds not called. All within a few seconds. These three should never work a game together again. Might want to see if any of them had money riding on the game. Worst officiating in years. Was in stupidity, favoritism, or dishonest?

Matt Damon joins the growing list of celebrities unhappy with President Obama

The sad thing is Obama could never do what he had promised. That the Hollywood crowd was taken in is no surprise. Too much drug use. As far as Matt Damon is concerned ask him if he has more money today than he did when he voted for Obama? If yes tell him to shut up. If no ask him how Obama has hurt him.

Middle East

The United States should stay out of the unrest in the Middle East. To-date we have supported dictators who have oppressed the people. The people hate us. Muslims cannot live in a democracy so oppression is the only way to govern them. They will overthrow or attempt to overthrow any government until they get one they like such as in Iran. Today, the people rebelling are very likely the trouble makers in Tunisia "spreading the word."  Muslims wanting to establish theocracies that will hate the United States. And regardless of what the politicians say this is a war between Western Civilization and Islam.

Somali Pirates

If I understand the reports our Navy was going to not let the negotiators return to their ship. Those same negotiators had told their people to kill the hostages if they do not return. If true our Navy violated the standard "white flag" of truce for enemies to talk. Whoever made that call should be Court Martialed. While the victims did not deserve what happened to them what did they expect sailing through the area in which pirates are active? Like the two hikers in Iranian jails what did they expect? Americans should stay out of that part of the world.

Four Reasons the Supreme Court Will Uphold Obama's Health Care

1) Congress, of course, has the power to regulate interstate commerce. But people who opt out of purchasing health care are not keeping to themselves. Many of them are taking a free ride on government-run hospital emergency rooms. Taxpayers foot the bill for that kind of care, so it's impossible to make a legal argument that some people can be legally exempt.

2) The Court's decision on Social Security in 1982 is a good litmus test. Justices said, in effect, that it'd be nice to offer the people a chance to opt out of a burly national system, but if you do, the entire system collapses. The same is true with the health care law.

3) If you think Justice Anthony Kennedy is the swing vote, think again. He may sit at the ideological center of the Court, but he's come down on both sides on issues of personal freedoms, like gun rights, and the 14th Amendment for equal protection. But he's never been up in the air on issues that have such substantial economic implications, like health care does.

4) This is the Supreme Court we're talking about, not Congress. The Supremes occasionally appear partisan, but they're not bound by the party of the president who appointed them. Political arguments don't always pan out on strictly partisan lines the way they did in 2000 in Bush v. Gore. In fact, they almost never do.

Iraq Debacle

Rafid Ahmed Alwan al-Janabi known by the IA as "Curveball" should be charged with murder as well as several other crimes for causing the deaths of thousands of people including our military. He has caused the financial ruin of thousands of people. If he is not going to be executed for his crimes he should be deported to Iran.

The Bush administration should be charged and tried on crimes against humanity and other war crimes. Their lack of diligence caused the death and injury to thousands of people.

Boldly for Extermination

If the problem is the student refused to condemn Hamas I thought the speaker's question was petty. My guess is he was upset that the student said the pamphlet was more interesting than the talk. Nice shot but a bit cheap. Both getting under the other's skin.
Christian's are anti Satan. They would like for God to destroy Satan and if they could they would destroy Satan. Muslims are anti Jew. They would like for Allah to destroy the Jews and if they could would destroy the Jews. They want Palestine to be an Islamic country. They want Allah to make it so. If they can they will.

Hamas is a wing of the Muslim Brotherhood. It considers Palestine an Islamic Holy Possession. Among its goals is the destruction of the State of Israel. Where is the compromise between Israel and Hamas?

Where was the compromise between the Colonies and England? They could not coexist in the status quo. It was a fight to the death. Same with Hamas and Israel one has to destroy the other or one has to change their goals.

For years rhinoceros would not mate in captivity. Zoo folks were stumped. It seems the beginning of the rhinoceros mating ritual includes some pretty violent activity resulting in blood shedding and on occasion injuries. The zoo people not recognizing what was going on would separate the animals to protect them. Then, one day a light went on. With their new knowledge the violence is permitted to continue and there are little rhinos everywhere. Nature is violent and sometimes it is best to stay out of its way. Hamas and Israel cannot co-exist. One has to yell "Uncle!!"  As the Colonies and England had to duke it out until one said "Uncle" so do Hamas and Israel.

Motivation Humans and Animals

Wild animals never kill for sport. Man is the only one to whom the torture and death of his fellow creatures is amusing in itself. James A. Froude: English historian (1818 - 1894)
It is thought that some animals do kill for fun at least they do not eat what they kill.

Forcible or Not Forcible

I understand the House leadership, I assume Boner et al, want to redefine rape into a couple of categories, forcible and not forcible. Forcible could have access to government sponsored abortions while the not forcible, such as date rate, etc where the female could not prove force would not have access. Should be an interesting two years.

I have never understood how the manner in which the fetus was created, fun sex or bad sex, is a valid measurement of whether it should live or die.

Wild Animals in Captivity

We humans have an odd habit of taking wild, untamed animals into captivity. Animals meant to wander tens if not hundreds of miles in a day are confined to are where minimal exercise is available. We poke and prod them and when the animal does not respond we think "good animal." We think animals are like children and as we know a "good child" is seen and not heard.

This elephant probably did nothing different than they would have done to another elephant they liked or disliked. The problem is the elephant does not know its own strength.

I do not consider I am less of a person because I have never seen millions of bison roaming the prairie. I would not be less of a person if I never saw an elephant in captivity. I never saw a dinasaur and it does not bother me. Leave the wild animals in their natural habitat,

Egypt: Emergency Law vs United States: Patriot Act

The Egyptian emergency law sounds familiar:

Egypt under the emergenc law: police powers are extended, constitutional rights suspended and censorship is legalized. The law sharply circumscribes any non-governmental political activity: street demonstrations, non-approved political organizations, and unregistered financial donations are formally banned. Some 17,000 people are detained under the law, and estimates of political prisoners run as high as 30,000. Under that "state of emergency", the government has the right to imprison individuals for any period of time, and for virtually no reason, thus keeping them in prisons without trials for any period.

Just Say "Yes" to Regulations

Allen Greenspan admitted he was wrong thinking the banks could regulate themselves. As long as business pays their officers hundreds of millions of dollars for less than mediocre performance and come to the taxpayers for bail outs the taxpayers must regulate that business. And I expect your support. When businesses fail let them fail.

Egypt Should Not Change Now

In a country of 90 million population Egypt cannot change with less than 100,000 protesters. Mubarak has said he will not run again. If he does DON'T VOTE FOR HIM!!! As with other Middle East countries the citizens of Egypt do not know how to function under a real Democracy or Republic. Look at Russia! They are still trying to figure it out.

Mubarak Can't Leave

Egypt has laws and Mubarak was "elected' according to those laws. An election will be held in a couple of months and Mubarak has said he will not run. When the new president is elected reforms can begin. If a minority of people can force this president out another minority can force the next president to leave. That does not make for a stable country. The should follow our example: declare their independence and start a new country.

Health Care Rationing

I hear comments concerning how ObamaCare will ration health care. I don't see rationing as a problem. We cannot afford to do everything we technically can do. You have a son who is 45 and needs $400,000 for treatment and you have a 85 year-old grandmother who needs $200,000 to be cured and you have $300,000. What would you do? If you can afford it you can do anything you want otherwise you are sharing a finite amount of money.

Technology wise electronic record keeping will make everything more efficient.

We have to identify and remove from the system all treatments that are not worth what they cost. That will be step 1. Doctors are going to hate it. But insurance companies will do this with or without Obamacare.

Re: Mubarak Must Stay

Iran was unable to conquer Iraq. Our destruction of order in Iraq has permitted Iran to takeover Iraq today. What their military could not do ours did for them. The leaders of Jordan, Syria, Egypt, and others have kept the Muslim Brotherhood down. If Mubarak leaves Egypt the Brotherhood will take over the government. Something they could not do without our help as we demand Mubarak must get out.

If he leaves it will be mob rule.Mubarak has maintained order like Saddam Hussein did in Iraq before we sent our military in for a coup. When Mubarak leaves the Muslim Brotherhood will rule as the Shia do in Iran and will soon in Iraq and Syria, and Yemen, and AE and Jordan and the rest of the Middle East. Right vs Left

The terms "left" and "right" appeared during the French Revolution of 1789 when members of the National Assembly divided into supporters of the king to the president's right and supporters of the revolution to his left. (The seating may have been influenced by the tradition of the United Kingdom Parliament, where the monarch's ministers sit to the speaker's right, while the opposition sit to his or her left.)

Those who were loyal to religion and the king took up positions to the right of the chair so as to avoid the shouts, oaths, and indecencies that enjoyed free rein in the opposing camp". However the Right opposed the seating arrangement because they believed that deputies should support private or general interests but should not form factions or political parties. The contemporary press occasionally used the terms "left" and "right" to refer to the opposing sides.

At least this is one cause. . .

50 Shilling

On the subject of immigration: in the beginning of the 17th century the Virginia Company wanting to attract new colonists offered 50 shilling to each person paying their own way to America.  It proved so successful that it was imitated in some form by almost every later English colonial venture, as well as the U.S. government into the 19th century to attract immigrants. Maybe we should recognize it has always been the nature of our country to encourage immigration not to prevent it. What we need to stop are the government gimmees we all enjoy.

Egypt

What we are seeing in the Middle East is the Iran affect. Anytime Iran wants to it can walk into any country in the Middle East take control and no other country can stop them. George gave Iran what Iran could not get for itself when he upset the order of Iraq. With that under their belt the other countries are terrified. I heard a woman from Egypt sees their options as a continuation of the dictatorship, what is going on now is a call for democracy and a the alternative being a theocracy. If it goes to theocracy Iran will have won.

ObamaCare

Government has no Constitutional authority to require anyone to purchase health care insurance. Government has no Constitutional authority to require health care providers to provide health care to the uninsured. So those without health care insurance do not receive any health care services. Isn't that simple?

Egypt

Egypt. . . The reasons, I hear, for the current upsettedness of the Egyptian people include government corruption: lack of jobs; vast difference between the haves and the have nots: which support my contention of several months ago that the next revolution in the United States is going to be between the haves and have nots.

While their constituents are losing their jobs, congress gives themselves raises. and enlarge their expense accounts. While their constituents do not have health care members of congress make sure they and their families have the best healthcare plan in the world. While their constituents lose their pensions, members of congress make sure they and their families have the best retirement plan in the world.

Don't forget the incest among corporate America and our elected officials. The super rich making everyday expenses beyond the reach of the average American.

First depression, second revolution. The next armed conflict within the borders of the United States will be not be racial, or religious, or ideological it will be the have nots rising up against the haves. Remember the French Revolution? "Let them eat cake." Remember what happened. The United States is not beyond such extremism.

Re: Fw: The Growing Crisis in Egypt -

Egypt is more like Iran.  Mubarak is like the Shah a vicious dictator and like the Shah knows which side his bread is buttered on so he brown noses the US. The citizens of any country will take crap for so long and then all hell breaks lose i.e. the Berlin wall. Mubarak has to coddle the people or they will assassinate him like they did his predecessor. He may have had a part in that, I do not know. The United States has to stay light on their toes and be ready to go either direction.

The Egyptian brotherhood was involved with Sept 2001. Mubarak and those before him kept them in check as Saddam did as the president of Syria did, as King of Jordan did. The only way to control them is to kill them. If we are ready to do that we can win. If we are not Egypt and Jordan and Syria and Iraq will all go the way of Iran.

Our military will be of little use. Our weapons are too expensive to risk on a $200 handheld rocket. We are too big to fight so the solution has to be political and via third parties. If we put more military on the ground we will be sending them into a meat grinder and we have not seen casualties like we can expect since Antietam. If I were on their side the first thing I would do is exactly like Saddam did. Set the oil fields in Saudi Arabia, Iraq on fire. The U.S. military is already stretched too thin so they will not be able to respond effectively. As happened in Yehmen a few years ago, I would attack as many US ships in foreign ports as I had people. Then I would poison the water sources for a few major cities in the United States and maybe highjack a plane or two and land them in the middle of large cities. Then if he is alive, which I doubt, I would bring Osama into the picture as the head of the revolution in one of those Middle East countries. And the only demand I would make is for the US to get out of the Middle East completely. Should be a fun month.

The information contained in this briefing is for your consideration insofar as how we in America may be affected by the growing crisis
in Egypt.

FOR YOUR ANALYSIS:
1.  The riots in Egypt have continued the past 4-days, and are growing in both intensity and in numbers of outbreaks and participants.  As
of this date/time, 74-killed and two thousand injured.  Also 3-police officers have been killed. The police in Cairo have been recalled completely with the
Egyptian military now the lead
force attempting to bring order. The curfew has been completely ignored, with the numbers of rioters growing by the hour.  Over 18-million people live
in Cairo, Egypt.
2.  The rioters are "everyday" Egyptians; including Moms, Grandmothers, and those who would never have thought about acts of civil disobedience.
Egyptians are well-educated but literally hungry.  For 30-years, the Egyptian government has stolen from the people, and while the Egyptian government
became wealthy and accustomed to a very nice life-style, the people of Egypt, for the most part, have not been as fortunate.  Another example of the
disparity between the Elites and everyone else.  The emotional drama is still building.  Crowds take on their own personality, and what is taking place in
Cairo, Egypt is beginning to spread to outlining areas of the country, and is also intensifying.  The people are beginning to speak in one voice "Not until
Mubarak is removed!"  Shuffling the Egyptian cabinet may prove to be nothing more than political window dressing, and the people will not go along with
this type of sham.
3.  Lt. Gen Omar Suleiman, Director of Egypt's Intelligence System,  EGID, similar to America's CIA, has been appointed Vice President of Egypt.  This may
prove to be the first step in President Mubarak stepping down as President.  General Suleiman can be viewed as Gerald Ford was during the Nixon transition
closing down Watergate; a calming and transitional President.  Mubarak is still holding on, but his wife and son already have left the country landing in London, England.
4.  Banks throughout Egypt are closed; international businesses and corporations have closed; selected embassy's have removed their staffs; growing concern
over the security and calm at the Suez Canal, which, as you know, is a critical water passage way for oil distribution world-wide.  Oil already has risen $4-a
Barrel to $90-barrel which means gas in America will go to $4-gal by next week.  Yesterday, Friday, oil jumped 4.3% the largest one-day jump since 9/09.
There is speculation a price jump could be as high as $10-a barrel.  This rise would have very serious implications for Americans and our economy.  Over 2-
million barrels of oil go to Europe daily through the Suez Canal.  Any disruption could have a severe immediate effect on Europe and its' continuing decaying
economy.
5.  Signs of a slow and steady villanization of America is underway.  The United States is seen by a growing number of Egyptians as being the main support to
Mubarak, helping him to remain in a dictatorial position the past 30-years.  Mubarak will not listen to the present administration in America.  He is most close to the
Clintons, but does not respect at all Obama.  So, our influence will be limited.
6.  The Muslim Brotherhood is increasing its presence and influence during this.  This will have a very negative result for America.

The Repubs Not Doing So Well

So far the repubs are a bust. So what if the House wants to change Obamacare, the senate is what counts. So Obamacare will stay but the repubs in the house can claim opposition. Big deal with no results. Next the repubs were against helping the unemployed but wanted to continue with a tax break for the rich and famous, another repub mistake. I would think the repubs would have wanted to extend unemployment since their rich friends sent the jobs off shore and received millions in bonuses for doing just that. So far Obama is a shoe-in for 2012. As I mentioned before the repubs have no clue. I should say Boner looked prettier than Pelosi sitting behind our leader. Where does he get his tan? Either he weekends in the Bahamas or he has a tanning machine in his office, what do you think?

Health Care Goals

  1. Ensure that all Americans enjoy financial access to modern health care:
  2. Ensure that all patients receive care that is worth what it costs:
  3. Eliminate care that is not worth what it costs.

Health Care and Automobile Manufacturers

How different would the market for automobiles have developed if a third party paid 80 percent of the cost of new cars. . . . The insurance would have influenced both the number and type of cars people bought. People would replace cars more often, they would buy higher quality cars. A BWM or Mercedes would cost buyers little more than a Chevy or Ford, sales of luxury cars would go up. Car manufacturers would have focused on product development, bigger engines and luxuries rather than cost reducing manufacturing changes. . .

Controlling health care costs might mean doing away with insurance. The medical industry would have to minimize costs like other industries do and price their products and service so the customer can afford to buy.

Sharing the Pain

Editor: The Mountain Press:

Where were you and what were you doing when Zachary Salmon died in Afghanistan?

Before sending our military off to war "we the people" should insist our government show the military enough respect to declare war. Then those of us left behind should "feel" the war. A draft should be initiated to include men and women up to age of the oldest person engaged in the war. Additional taxes should be implemented and rationing should begin. We should pay as we go. If we cannot pay for it now then we should not start wars. Our current practice of sending our military off to die while we continue life as usual is at the very least insulting. When our military is sent to war every person living in the United States should share the pain.

MLK Was Wrong

It is all about the color of ones skin. The content of one's character is at least second on the list. Obama is as white as he is black but the media refers to him as black. Why? It is because of the color of his skin. So forget MLK. He was dreaming. It is all about the color of ones skin. Thanks media.

2012

It appears Obama continues to win and the Republicans continue to flounder. Apparently the Republicans want Obama to tell his followers what to think while on the subject of Obama's birth certificate Boehner says it is not his place to tell other republicans what to think. We need to go to Washington and show these idiots how to do it.

NCAA and Ohio State University VS Ethics and Honesty

The NCAA and Ohio State University had an opportunity to set an example of ethics, morality and honesty instead they validated what was already known: if you are on a team and better than average you can get away with anything. Too bad both organizations have damaged their reputations.

Re: Finally

One of the problems is that republicans have no clue.

In the standoff involving tax cuts and unemployment the republicans came off with not wanting to help the unemployed while insisting on continuing tax cuts for the very very very rich. Now Obama on the other hand came across as wanting to continue the tax cuts to the middle income AND help the unemployed. Obama and the democrats won that skirmish and will get a big ATTABOY come the 2010 election.

The republicans have got to wake up or Obama will continue serving the middle and lower income classes and those unemployed because the very very very rich have sent the jobs overseas and the republicans will continue to brown-nose the very very very rich at the expense of the middle and lower income people and those unemployed. This was not a good start.

Also the agreement adds to the deficit after the republicans promised to reduce the deficit if they were allowed to do favors for the very very very rich to whom they will look for consulting jobs after they retire with a lucrative retirement thus becoming one of the very very very rich.

Not All Countries are Democracies

Iran is not a democracy and doesn't have to treat the people as if they are, Time is past for liberals to understand some people are not equipped to be free. Ahmadinejad is right.

Health Care Costs

Considering there is a limited amount of funds how do you propose we should handle keeping babies and old people alive?

Re: An Interview with a former White House Insider on Obama

The office of president is impossible for one person to conduct. That just may be the final straw that breaks the democracy. Thomas Jefferson and others were concerned the nation would become to large to govern and it just may have. It just might be 100 senators are too many to co that the Constitution assigns to them as are almost 600 representatives.

An Interview with a  former White House Insider on Obama:  ...    Published by  Ulsterman on September 7, 2010  inOpinions

A  longtime Washington D. C. insider, and former advisor to the Obama  election campaign and transition team, speaks out on an  administration in crisis, and a president increasingly withdrawn  from the job of President...... According to him, those were  incredibly exciting times, even for one who had been a participant  with three previous presidential hopefuls. Barack Obama appeared  to move from one city to the next effortlessly, gaining confidence  and motivation with each campaign stop.
He  was remarkable to watch. He took the script, elevated it with his  oration, left the crowds screaming for more, and then would do it  all over again, time after time after time. On the campaign trail,  Obama is a machine.
When  I asked this insider if the media gave candidate Obama an assist  throughout his campaign, it elicits a sly  smile.
A:
Sure we definitely had people in the  media on our side. Absolutely. We went so far as to give them  specific ideas for coverage. The ones who took that advice from  the campaign were granted better access, and Obama was the biggest  story in 2008, so yeah, that gave us a lot of  leverage.

Could Obama have succeeded without  the medias help?
  A:
Yeah, I think so. As I said, on the  campaign trail he is very-very good. The opposition didnt have  near the energy, or the celebrity attraction that Obama brings.  Plus, the country was burned out after eight years of Bush. We  knew that going in. We knew that if we won the Democrat  nomination, we were likely going to cruise our way to the White  House and that is exactly what we  did.

But after Obama was sworn in, things  began to change?
  A:
Almost immediately. Obama loved to  campaign. He clearly didnt like the work of being President  though, and that attitude was felt by the entire White House staff  within weeks after the inauguration. Obama the tireless, hard  working candidate became a very tepid personality to us. And the  few news stories that did come out against him were the only  things he seemed to care about. He absolutely obsesses over Fox  News. For being so successful, Barack Obama is incredibly  thin-skinned. He takes everything very  personally.

And you state he despises Joe  Biden?
  A:
Oh yeah.. That is very well known in the  White House. Obama chose Biden for one reason to have an older  white guy with some international policy credentials. Period. If  Biden has all of this international experience that Obama found so  valuable, why has he buried him under the pile of crap that became  the stimulus bill? What does Joe Biden know about budgets and  economics? Not much but Obama didnt care. Give Joe a job and  get him the hell out of my hair that pretty much sums up the  presidents feelings toward Joe  Biden.

What about Hillary  Clinton?
  A:
Obama is scared to death of Hillary. He  doesn't trust her obsesses over her almost as much as he does  Fox News. He respects her though, which might be why he fears her  so much as well. He talks the game, but when it comes down to it,  she has played the game on a far tougher level than he has, and  Obama knows that.

How about Bill  Clinton?
  A:
I never heard Obama say anything about Bill  Clinton personally, though I was told he has cracked a few jokes  about the former president since getting into the White House. I  have heard that Bill Clinton does not like Barack Obama. That  really started when Obama played the race card against him during  the primary campaign. Apparently  Clinton  was apoplectic over  that and still hasnt gotten over it. If there is one thing I have  learned in this town dont make an enemy of Bill  Clinton.

So if Obama doesn't appear  interested in the job of president, what does he do day after  day?
  A:
Well, he takes his meetings just like any  other president would, though even then, he seems to lack a  certain focus and on a few occasions, actually leaves with the  directive that be given a summary of the meeting at a later date.  I hear he plays a lot of golf, and watches a lot of television  ESPN mainly.. Ill tell you this if you want to see President  Obama get excited about a conversation, turn it to sports. That  gets him interested. You start talking about Congress, or some  policy, and he just kinda turns off. Its really very strange. I  mean, we were all led to believe that this guy was some kind of  intellectual giant, right? Ivy League and all that. Well, that is  not what I saw. Barack Obama doesnt have a whole lot of  intellectual curiosity. When he is off script, he is what I call a  real slow talker. Lots of ummms, and lots of time in between  answers where you can almost see the little wheel in his head  turning very slowly. I am not going to say the president is a dumb  man, because he is not, but yeah, there was a definite letdown  when you actually hear him talking without the  script.

That sounds like you are calling  Obama stupid to me.
  A:
No I am not going to call him stupid. He  just doesn't strike me as particularly smart. Bill Clinton is a  smart guy he would run intellectual circles around Barack Obama.  And Bill Clinton loved the politics of being president. Obama  seems to think he shouldn't have to be bothered, which has created  a considerable amount of conflict among his  staff.

So how bad are things at the White  House these days?
  A:
I don't know about right now, because I  have not been there in over a month. But I still hear things, and  I know what it was like when I left. Its not good. As bad as it  might look to voters based on what they do know, its much worse.  The infighting is off the charts. You got a Chief of Staff who  despises cabinet members, advisors who despise the Chief of Staff,  a President and First Lady having their own  issues

Come again what about the First  Lady?
  A:
(The insider takes a deep  breath) Ok, look, just like  any other marriage, folks have issues. The Obama's are no  different, except of course they are very high profile. I was told  they were having issues before the campaign, and they have even  more issues now. Maybe that is why Obama seems so detached not  so much the stress of the White House, but the stress of personal  issues. I can certainly relate to that kind of  situation.

Care to clarify some more on the  Obama marriage?
  A:
No. That is all I will say about that.  Don't ask again.

Ok, back to President Obama then. In  just a few words, how would you describe him these  days?
  A:
Like I said, its been a while since I was  last at the White House, but I don't have a problem saying that  the president is losing it. I don't mean he is like losing his  mind. I mean to say that he is losing whatever spark he had during  the campaign. When you take away the crowds, Obama gets noticeably  smaller. He shrinks up inside of himself. He just doesn't seem to  have the confidence to do the job of President, and its getting  worse and worse. Case in point just a few days before I left, I  saw first hand the President of the United  States  yelling at a member  of his staff. He was yelling like a spoiled child. And then he  pouted for several moments after. I wish I was kidding, or  exaggerating, but I am not. The President of the   United  States threw a temper tantrum.  The jobs reports are always setting him off, and he is getting  increasingly conspiratorial over the unemployment numbers. I never  heard it myself, but was told that Obama thinks the banking system  is out to get him now. That they and the big industries are making  him pay for trying to regulate them more. That is the frame of  mind the President is in these days. And you know what? Maybe he  is right, who knows?

Will Obama run again in  2012?
  A:
I don't know. That subject was never  brought up again after 2008, at least not around me. If he does, I  think it would have more to do with allowing him another year and  a half of campaigning again. He just loves it so much. He really  needs the crowds, the cheering, the support of the  people.

Can he win in  2012?
  A:
Oh absolutely. Who else campaigns as well  as Barack Obama? Nobody. What politician is more loved and  supported by the media? Nobody. I don't see the Republicans  offering up a candidate as powerful as Obama. I mean Sarah Palin?  Really? Obama would defeat her by a 20 point landslide! Romney?  The Republicans will enjoy these midterm elections, but 2012 is  Obamas year if he chooses to run again. As a president, Obama has  many flaws, but as a candidate, he is near  flawless.

But would another four years of an Obama  presidency be the best thing for America?
  A:
(Long pause) Now that is a much more  interesting question right there, and a question I think more and  more Democrat Party insiders are asking themselves these days,  myself included. I am going to come right out and say it No.  Obama is not up to the job of being president. He simply doesn't  seem to care about the work involved. You want to know what? Obama  is lazy. He really is. And it is getting worse and worse. Would  another four years of Obama be the best thing for  America? No it would  not. What this country needs is a president who is focused on the  job more than on themselves. Obama is not that individual. I  actually hope he doesn't run again. Looking back, as much fun as  the campaign in 2008 was, Hillary Clinton should have been the  nominee. Hillary was ready to be president. Obama was not ready.  He had never lost a campaign. Everything was handed to him. He  doesn't really understand the idea of work real, hard, get your  heart and soul into it work. And frankly, that is very  disappointing to a whole lot of  us.

DTDT or What?

As I cogitate on the history of our country it appears to be a pattern that whenever the public did not and does not like someone they declare it a non-entity. Examples are the Indians, Negroes, unborn babies and most recently homosexuals.
The public, as in the majority, has never been a reliable group to determine what is right i,e, tghe examples above. And Christians have forfeited our right to be indignant about homosexuals due to our acceptance of adultery, also a violation of God's laws. Adultery is wrong only because God says it is, now. In the OT times God accepted adultery as a way of life. Go figure. In fact due to the stubbornness of HIS people HE changed the rules. Jesus said he did. But I digress.
Why would we let the government prohibit people who are attracted to the same gender as themselves from protecting our country? And asking the military to vote on their preference is ludicrous. When did the military become a democracy?
What both the military and our courageous Representatives and Senators were looking and hoping for was a court decision that they could blame for having to repeal DADT. Cowards to say the least and hypocrites at best.
It is more than past time to get governments out of the sex lives of the citizens. If we continue to permit government interference, even though we agree with them, THIS time, wait and you will find you and your preferences on the next federal or state hit list. It is not governments business to determine who may and may not commit to each other.

The State of the Groundhog

This next year, both Groundhog Day and the State of the Union address occur on the same day.  As Air America Radio pointed out, "It is an ironic juxtaposition of events; one involves a meaningless ritual in which we look to a creature of little intelligence for prognostication whilethe other has something to do with a groundhog."

Re: Support for Health Care Law Drops

Congressman Roe:

You fail to mention the judge who found the one point is a republican appointee as well as a consultant with the republican party to overthrow the health care bill. You fail to mention two other judges, who happen to be democratic appointees found the same area constitutional.

The problem is the uninsured are receiving health care today and the insured are paying for them. While the Walton family fortune approaches $100 billion half their employees do not have health care insurance but are receiving health care as I mentioned above. The insured taxpayers are subsidizing the WalMart corporation One of three things must happen:

1) every individual must be required to purchase health insurance or
2) every corporation must provide health care insurance for all of their workers, fulltime, parttime, contract, or
3) Uninsured people must not receive health care treatment even if it means they die or suffer. Whether they be babies, children, or adults.

It seems to me option #1 is the best option.

If you want the voter to believe anything you say you must be sure to give all pertinant facts.

Support for Health Care Law Drops

This week, U.S. District Judge Henry Hudson in Virginia declared a central provision of the law in the health care legislation requiring that individuals obtain health insurance by 2014 is unconstitutional.  This judge determined that this health care law went too far and Congress must push forward to repeal the Democrats health care law and replace it with commonsense – and constitutional – legislation that aims at lowering health care costs.

While this ruling is a rejection of the health care law, the President and his supporters are focused on appealing the decision, so the case is far from over.  Still, this is further evidence the health care legislation was rushed through Congress and is very flawed.

Through the individual mandate, the federal government is literally forcing all Americans to buy health insurance.  Even worse, this legislation gives the federal government the right to decide what is "acceptable" coverage for individuals.  Those who do not meet these standards will be taxed or penalized.

Ultimately, the Supreme Court will decide if government can force individuals to buy a private product or be penalized for not doing so.  A Wall Street Journal editorial that addresses this ruling points out that: "If government can punish citizens for in essence doing nothing, then what is left of the core constitutional principle of limited and enumerated government powers?"

For those who are already covered, the health care law allows Americans to keep their health care coverage – so long as their health care plan doesn't make any significant changes.  But the reality is, health care plans constantly change out of necessity, and now when they change, Americans will be at risk of losing their existing health care plan – like it or not.  The promise that Americans could keep their existing insurance is temporary, at best.

A Washington Post/ABC poll this week shows the American people reject the Democrats health care law, with approval ratings hitting a new record low.  Fifty-three percent of the respondents said they were opposed to the health care legislation.

In a Rasmussen poll, sixty percent of the respondents want the health care bill repealed.  The report goes on to explain: "Most voters have favored repeal of the law every week since it was passed and support for repeal has now inched up to its highest level since mid-September."  The bottom line is, the more people hear about the details, the less they like this bill.

While legal fights are just beginning against this health care law in states around the country, I am committed to working with Congress to repeal the law and address critical health care challenges that face our nation.  I urge the Obama Administration and the Democrats in Congress to work with Republicans in passing common-sense health care reforms that are constitutionally permissible.

Our Leaders Should Lead by Example

During these hard economic times our government should lead by example. Everyone in the Legislative and Executive branches take a pay cut. Everyone gives up 15% and the top 4 or 5 levels give up an additional 25%? When the economy is back they get back what they gave up.

"If everyone is thinking alike, then somebody isn't thinking."

What Can or Should We Do. . .

To answer the question about what can or should we do about what is going on in our country. The answer depends on why God blesses you. Does he bless you so you can go on vacations and have expensive cars, large houses etc or so you can give more, so you can help others more.

Our culture, the culture of capitalism, more for me, less for you, has diverted Christians from working on their purpose. We shrug off the question what would Jesus do saying he does not want us to be poor etc. If we were to identify a place in the world that would be difficult for us to survive we most probably would avoid it. Considering Jesus said, "Truly, I say to you, only with difficulty will a rich person enter the kingdom of heaven" why would any Christian want to be rich?

Paul told Timothy: "I urge that supplications, prayers, intercessions, and thanksgivings be made for all people,  for kings and all who are in high positions, that we may lead a peaceful and quiet life, godly and dignified in every way.  This is good, and it is pleasing in the sight of God our Savior,  who desires all people to be saved and to come to the knowledge of the truth. For there is one God, and there is one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus, who gave himself as a ransom for all, which is the testimony given at the proper time."

To me that says it is good and pleasing in the sight of God that we lead peaceful, quiet lives because he desires all people to be saved, not so we can have comfortable lives and go on great vacations, live in large homes, buy nice cars etc. Our culture tells us differently and in that way our culture has diverted us from our purpose.

What should we do? What should Christians do?  Help the people to come to the knowledge of the truth would be a good start and stop looking to our own pleasures, security, comforts. Paul told Timothy "whoever knows the right thing to do and fails to do it, for him it is sin" what part don't Christians undrstand?

Wikileaks, best thing to happen our Foreign Policies

WikiLeaks is the best thing to happen to our Foreign Policies in history. Nothing to be embarrassed about. Nothing to be afraid of. If we are using our ambassadors to spy we are doing what every other country does. With "leaks" like this wars will not be so easy to start. Mrs Clinton is probably more correct that you want to believe when she said one of her counterparts said "Don't worry, you should hear what we say about you."

Wikileaks. . .

WikiLeaks is the best thing in history for the people of the United States.  An additional side benefit is we see our leaders are not as clueless as they appear in public. Here are some fun parts:
